The US Embassy and the Peace Corps invite journalists to attend the swearing-in ceremony for 35 new Peace Corps volunteers to be held Thursday, April 24, starting at 12 noon. The event will take place at the US Ambassador's Residence, on 21 Soseaua Kiseleff. The Ambassador will attend the ceremony and make remarks.
The 35 volunteers who will be sworn represent three sectors:
- Cultural, Ethnicity, Technology and Youth Development (CETY)
- Environment Management and Education (ENV)
- Health, Social Services and Youth (HSY)
- CETY
12 Volunteers will be assigned to Suceava, Bistrita, Bacau, Iasi, Pitesti, Zalau, and Targu Mures. This includes 5 Volunteers working in Technology, who will be working in Giurgiu, Miercurea Ciuc, Petrosani, Sibiu,and Suceava.
Organizations in this sector include: NGO resource centers, pro-democracy organizations, youth groups, and county-level government offices.

ll be assigned to Fagaras, Satu Mare, Orastie - Hunedoara, Iasi, Piatra Neamt, Vaslui, Oradea, Sighisoara, Zalau, Targu Jiu, Hateg/Hunedoara, Miercurea Ciuc, Dej Cluj, Sfantu Gheorghe, Targu Mures, and Arad.
The volunteers' assignments include governmental organizations, such as a town hall, environmental protection Inspectorate, country council and forestry department; and non-governmental environmental and donor organizations.

7 Volunteers will be assigned to Suceava, Brasov, Galati, Pitesti, Alba Iulia, and Sebes.
Their assignments include a public health department, a women's association (focused on domestic violence), a shelter for homeless, a local agency working in rural health promotion), with NGOs working with disabled youth and integrating institutionalized children.
