"Breaking of the Fast" following Yom Kippur, September 28 at Ambassador’s Residence

Ambassador Gitenstein invited members of the Jewish community for a meal to break the fast, marking the end of the holiest Jewish holiday of the year, Yom Kippur (“day of atonement”). This is the first time a U.S. Ambassador has hosted such an event. Members of the community were highly appreciative. The Ambassador also hosted an Iftar meal for the local Muslim community to break the fast after Ramadan.
