The Cultural Section arranges lectures, seminars, workshops, and training programs in various fields with an emphasis on the rule of law, civic
education, women's issues, international affairs, and free market economics. It also administers a diverse array of professional exchange programs in
the above fields. The American Cultural Center's auditorium provides a convenient venue for these and other Embassy-related programs.
This office arranges for exhibits to be displayed in different regions of Romania and provides facilitative assistance to a certain number of
American performing artists visiting the country.
Working with the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission, the Cultural Section guides and supervises academic exchange programs such as the Fulbright
Program, the Ron Brown Fellowship Program and the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship program.
This office also encourages U.S. - Romanian institutional linkages in educational and professional domains. It promotes affiliations between U.S. and
Romanian universities.
The Cultural Section sends Romanian university and high school teachers to month-long U.S. - based programs on topics relating to American studies. It
does not, however, fund individual research projects or participation in symposia.
Individuals interested in studying in the U.S. can contact the Romanian - U.S. Fulbright Commission for information regarding U.S. universities,
entrance examinations and admission requirements. One does not need to be a Fulbright applicant to use the Commission's student advising services.
